Patricia grew up in the late 1930s a time when the world was on edge anxious and worried about what was happening in Europe. This was not her world, hers was one surrounded by her two best friends. A life full of happiness, mischief and what the future held for each of them oblivious to everything else . Neither of them could ever have imagined their hopes and dreams they so wished for would take a much darker and tragic turn. From a loving and hardworking middleclass family Patricia found herself within the care of those whose duty it was to care for and protect innocent children.
Her journey is one of pain and suffering and yet through it all this young girl manages to find what strength she could in the hope that one day she would be reunited with her friend she left behind. What occurred to those children within the walls of Cecilia House was beyond anyone’s imagination and they suffered in silence for many years after. Their voices went unheard but they are being heard now.
